Role of OPES: Organisation involved in the activity and international cooperation
Website: Youth Workers Exchange Programme: la presentazione dei progetti per un’inclusione condivisa
The Project
The Youth Workers Exchange Programme – Training Course on Inclusion in and Through Sport is an international training course dedicated to inclusion in sport and through sport.
The activity was organised by the Ministry for Sport and Youth of Turkey, in collaboration with and with the involvement of OPES and its international relations office. The programme involved participants from France, Spain, Turkey, Italy, and Slovenia, placing inclusion at the centre as a shared responsibility among countries, organisations, and communities.
Objectives
The training course approached inclusion not as a purely technical issue but as a cultural one. Making sport inclusive means recognising that everyone has the right to practice it according to their abilities, in a context capable of valuing differences rather than treating them as obstacles.
Activities and Expected Results
During the final day, participants worked on presenting projects in which sport becomes a tool for social inclusion. The proposals showed how even simple activities, short workshops, or targeted adjustments to existing practices can help break down physical and mental barriers, foster integration, and promote shared growth.
The experience represents the first step in a broader pathway, with activities planned for 2026 and possible future developments within international cooperation.
