The Project

360 Safe Play is a European project created to strengthen the protection of children and adolescents in grassroots sport, with particular attention to those living in vulnerable situations or coming from more difficult social and economic contexts.

The project is funded by the CERV programme – Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values – dedicated to preventing and combating violence, including violence against children and adolescents.

360 Safe Play is based on a safeguarding methodology already developed by Fundació Pere Tarrés. The goal is to test and validate it in different contexts, to understand its effectiveness and make it replicable on a large scale.

Objectives

The project aims to make grassroots sport a safer, more inclusive environment focused on the well‑being of minors. The model combines awareness‑raising, prevention, early risk detection, and peer‑to‑peer restorative practices, valuing the role of the community and coordination between organisations and institutions.

A central element is the active participation of children, adolescents, and young people, involved not only as beneficiaries but also as active contributors in co‑creating the activities.

Activities and Expected Results

The project will be developed and tested in Spain, Bulgaria, and Italy, with an inclusive approach and specific attention to minors with disabilities, minors in vulnerable situations, gender issues, and LGBTIQ+ inclusion.

Final results include toolkits, operational tools, and guidelines to support the replicability of the model in sports clubs, associations, and federations across the European Union.

OPES participates as the Italian partner, contributing to the testing and dissemination of tools to make sport a truly safe, inclusive, and protective environment.
