Who we are

Founded in 1980, OPES aps is now a Social Promotion Association, a Universal Civil Service Organisation and a Sports Promotion Organisation recognised by CONI and CIP. It promotes and organises, on a non-profit basis, small and large-scale sporting, cultural, social promotion, voluntary, educational and recreational events and projects at local, national and international levels, with the aim of fostering integration, social inclusion, education, community building and all those values that can benefit society as a whole.

Furthermore, since September 2023, OPES aps has also been the publisher of RISORSE.NEWS, a news publication covering topics related to community sport, the third sector, education and culture, health and the environment.

Every day, by drawing on the vast wealth of resources provided by our affiliates, regional committees, executives, managers, and the men and women who place their networks, passions, and professional and academic experience at the service of the Organisation, OPES promotes the ethical and social value of sport to improve people’s quality of life and, at the same time, to strengthen the pillars upon which society rests.

Through its departments (environment; health; wellbeing; schools and universities; work and training; civil protection and volunteering; social and sports tourism; sport; social responsibility), its projects (sports, Civil Service, social promotion, national and international) and its multidisciplinary events (e.g. Roma Sport Experience) and celebratory events (e.g. City of Rome Award, Sports Gala), it is able to achieve its objectives and remain true to its mission: to generate value in society.
