Today, July 1st, 2025, OPES celebrates its 45th anniversary: an important milestone that invites reflection on its roots, achievements, and future challenges. Over the years, the Association has successfully combined the values of sport, social engagement, and cultural identity, becoming a point of reference for local, national, and international communities.

Today, OPES is a Social Promotion Association, a Universal Civil Service body, a Professional Training Entity, a Social Welfare Organization, and a Sports Promotion Entity recognized by CONI and CIP. It organizes and promotes sports, cultural, social, and educational projects and events, aiming to foster integration, inclusion, education, and community engagement, contributing to the well-being of society.

Founded in 1980, 43 years before sports activities were enshrined in the Italian Constitution, OPES was born with a clear mission: to promote social, grassroots, and inclusive sport as a tool for inclusion, personal growth, and collective well-being. From the very beginning, sport has been a means to transmit values, teach socialization, face challenges, overcome limits, and nurture dreams.

In a constantly evolving Italy, OPES has responded to new social needs, becoming a reference point for anyone wishing to engage in sports, regardless of age, gender, or physical ability. The Association’s ability to combine tradition with social innovation and creativity has enabled it to propose new models and tools to solve problems, involving entire communities.

OPES’ MISSION remains as vital as ever: “To manage a sustainable program of sports, social, and cultural promotion that generates value for both individuals and the community.”
